Shayne Berridge Wireman is the owner and head trainer of Chestnut Hills. At the tender age of 20, Shayne purchased the property where Chestnut Hills is still located, and she has successfully built a top-level lesson program and a winning, competitive show barn.

Shayne Berridge Wireman is the owner and head trainer of Chestnut Hills. At the tender age of 20, Shayne purchased the property where Chestnut Hills is still located, and she has successfully built a top-level lesson program and a winning, competitive show barn.
Shayne has trained a steady stream of champions at both the county and "A" circuit shows. She has served as the President of the Greater San Diego Hunter Jumper Association (GSDHJA) and remains an active board member. She was instrumental in creating the GSDHJA Championship Show, which is held annually at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. She has earned the title of GSDHJA Champion or Reserve Trainer of the Year many times with her extensive work on the county show circuit.
Shayne established a strong Interscholastic Equestrian Association Team (IEA) and has sent team members to the National Finals every year.
Shayne enjoys helping her clients find their perfect equine partners and sources high quality horses domestically and from Europe. She also has a passion for course design, and she practices her craft with fun and challenging courses at home and when the barn hosts Region 1 IEA shows. Her positive teaching style and experience bring out the best in her students, allowing them to achieve their goals while having fun. Creating a fun and safe environment where clients are considered family is Shayne's specialty!
Skylar Wireman began riding horses as a toddler, under the watchful eye of her mother. She has successfully competed in the hunter, jumper and equitation rings. Skylar recently turned professional and has her eye on participating in the Olympics someday.

Kit Cunningham grew up with parents who ride and train. She herself, started riding before she could even walk. She participated in the US Pony Club Program as a young rider.
Kit enjoys competing in all three rings on both the “A” and “B” circuits. During her gap year she spent time on the east coast as a working student for Tibri Hor

Kit enjoys competing in all three rings on both the “A” and “B” circuits. During her gap year she spent time on the east coast as a working student for Tibri Horses, based in Chepachet, RI where she traveled the eastern circuit and showed a variety of sale horses.

Kit earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of South Carolina while competing on their NCAA Division 1 Equestrian Team. During the 2021-2022 Season, Kit served as the Equestrian Team Captain.
Kit recently turned professional after graduating from college in 2022 and now enjoys riding and teaching all levels. She continues to have a special appreciation for the equitation ring. Kit, raised by parents who ride and train, prioritizes always putting the horse first!

Sally Haddon is the beginner instructor extraordinaire! She loves the little ones and has a great deal of fun teaching them as they learn how to ride. She rode and showed western as a child and then became involved in hunter/jumpers when her two boys decided to jump ponies as well as dirt bikes. Her boys grew up at Chestnut Hills, and she began teaching to offset their expenses, and she loves it so much, she won't give it up. She also helps manage the daily projects and upkeep around the barn and she runs the summer camps each year.
Emma Francisco teaches beginner and intermediate hunter jumper lessons, as well as western, horsemanship and ground lessons to riders of all ages. She absolutely loves teaching the next generation of horsemen and women!

Armando Castro is our Head Groom, Facility Manager, and the man we all could not live without! He is responsible for the day-to-day operations at Chestnut Hills. He takes excellent care of our horses and the facilities. The horses respond well to his gentle ways and sweet personality.
Armando has been with us at Chestnut Hills for over 20 years, and he is a special part of our family.
